The image of the robot using a drill to dispatch himself after his mind is shattered is an image that I first toyed with in high school, and after much tweaking, this is the final product. The initial sketches for this were drawn so long ago, I faintly remember the details or my mindset during the process, but I have included all of my sketches and notes accompanying this project.

This piece was inspired by an airbrush study I worked on in high school. One of my favorite images, a figure beaten and broken, his most essential pieces taken away from him. His inability to create is a greater torture than any physical harm that has befallen him. The negative space between the plates of armor was a a major consideration as I worked on this pieces.
